BELLEHOST / INFORMATION
Your information, thoughtfully handled.
How BelleHost uses information to run its accommodation directory and host subscriptions.
Updated 28 October 2026
Who this notice covers
BelleHost is an accommodation directory operated as a sole proprietorship. This notice covers our website, accounts, property information, feature requests and support. Contact our privacy contact at support@bellehost.com. The business operates from Montréal, Québec, Canada. Legal operator identification will be confirmed before customer launch.
Information you provide
When you register, we process your email address and authentication information. When you host, we store your workspace, listing text, accommodation details, contact methods, photos, rates, and the location information you choose to provide. Private addresses and coordinates support the location controls; they are not automatically made public.
Feature requests collect your name, email, phone number, idea and permission to contact you. Support emails contain the information you choose to send. Do not email passwords, card numbers or identity documents.
What visitors can see
Published listings show their public details, processed photos, rates, enabled host contacts, and the location precision selected by the host. Exact disclosure may reveal a street address and precise point. Approximate disclosure uses a generalized public area; city-only disclosure hides the private address, postal code and coordinates.
Choose host contact information you are comfortable making public. Visitors can copy or contact you using those details. Changing visibility cannot recall copies already saved elsewhere. Preview properties use invented profiles and cannot receive host messages.
Reporting and host verification
Listing reports contain the explanation you choose to submit and your account identifier. Reports are visible to BelleHost administrators; a report alone does not automatically hide a listing. Do not include sensitive documents in a report.
Host identity verification is manual. With your express agreement, BelleHost stores a photo ID image and selfie privately in Supabase for authorized administrators to compare. We do not use automated face recognition or a paid identity-verification provider. Hide ID numbers, dates of birth, signatures and unrelated information before upload, keeping your name, photo and expiry visible. Identity images are scheduled for automatic deletion 30 days after the review is completed, or 90 days after submission if the review is unfinished. During the short completed-review window, authorized staff may use the images to resolve verification questions. Expired evidence is blocked from viewing immediately; scheduled cleanup checks run regularly and retry storage deletion if a service fails. Decisions and necessary audit records may remain. Contact support@bellehost.com if you need an alternative; do not email identity documents. An identity check alone does not establish property ownership.
Property-authorization documents are stored privately in Supabase and reviewed by authorized BelleHost administrators. They never appear on public listings or in notification emails. Only the host workspace owner can submit evidence; other property editors can see its status. Hide account numbers, balances and unrelated information before uploading. Uploaded property evidence follows the same automatic 30-day completed-review and 90-day unfinished-review deletion schedule. Review decisions and necessary audit records may remain.
Important account, payment, report and review events send a limited operational notification to BelleHost’s administrative inbox. Notification emails contain links to the protected admin panel rather than document images or the full report text.
Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, save and review listings, display eligible properties, process subscriptions, respond to requests and prevent abuse. Feature-request contact details are used for that request and follow-up, not automatically for marketing.
The current MVP does not take accommodation bookings or guest payments, and it does not provide a traveler-to-host messaging inbox. Contacting a host through an external service is governed by that service and the host’s practices.
Payments and service providers
Stripe handles payment details on its hosted pages. BelleHost stores payment-provider identifiers and subscription, payment and invoice status; it does not store full card numbers or card security codes.
Vercel hosts the website; Supabase provides the database, authentication and file storage; Resend delivers application emails. IONOS provides our business email inbox. Their processing may occur outside your country, including in the United States. The database is currently located in Canada.
With your permission, Google Analytics provides aggregated website-usage reports and may process device, browser and network information, including your IP address, outside Canada. Google Analytics receives general page categories rather than account identifiers, search terms, private addresses or form contents. Learn how Google uses information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Interactive maps use MapLibre and OpenFreeMap/OpenStreetMap data. Your browser requests map resources from the map provider. Generalized postal-area boundaries are retrieved from Statistics Canada or the U.S. Census Bureau. These services may receive normal connection information such as your IP address.

Cookies and browser storage
Authentication uses cookies or related session storage to keep you signed in. This browser also stores saved places, comparison selections and browsing-session rotation for search. In this MVP, saved places do not sync between devices. Clearing site storage removes those local preferences and may sign you out.
Optional BelleHost and Google Analytics usage tracking is off until you allow it. Google uses analytics cookies, and you can withdraw permission using Privacy choices. Google Analytics is disabled on sign-in, registration, password-reset and security pages. When allowed, BelleHost records named pages visited, approximate visit times, a random browsing-session identifier and, when signed in, your account identifier. Administrators use this to find confusing steps for travelers and hosts. We do not record typed form contents, passwords, payment details or screen recordings. Individual visits are retained for up to 90 days; the dashboard shows the most recent 30 days. Use Privacy choices to change your preference. Declining does not prevent using BelleHost.
Keeping and protecting information
We use access permissions, private storage and restricted administrator controls to limit access. Published image versions are processed to remove embedded location metadata. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Canceled listing content is retained for reactivation until you delete it or request deletion, subject to a communicated policy change. Billing, security, audit and dispute records may need to be retained for applicable legal obligations or legitimate unresolved matters. Detailed regional retention requirements are being confirmed before launch.
Your choices and requests
You can edit your listing, choose public contacts and location precision, unpublish a listing, and cancel property renewal separately. For personal-information access, correction, export, deletion, consent questions or a privacy complaint, email support@bellehost.com. We may verify your identity using information already associated with your account.
Some requests may require closing or transferring an owned workspace first. We will explain any information we must retain and any lawful limits on a request. This does not limit rights you have under applicable privacy law.
